Winner of the 2nd edition of the 'Sand Constructions' competition
The winner of the 2nd edition of the competition 'Sand Constructions', Jeovanio Lulo, was in Lisbon where he represented Angola. Jeovanio, 13 years old, hails from Cabinda province and his prize-winning sculpture was a map of Africa. His prize was a certificate of participation.
The competition is supported by Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC) and took place in Lisbon at the beginning of September. Twenty-four youngsters aged between 11 and 14 took part, who were selected for different stages. It's the second time in a row that Jeovanio has won this competition. In the first edition he collected 324 points with a sculpture of a crocodile chasing a turtle.
The competition, which has the seal of BPC, provides hours of fun for the youngsters and their families and creates a space for interaction and healthy competition.
The organizers hope that all eighteen Angolan provinces will be included in the project by 2015, giving the initiative a more national scope.
